Port of New Orleans Resumes Normal Cruise Operations

The Port of New Orleans has returned to normal operations after it closed down Aug. 27 as Hurricane Isaac approached.
Power was restored on Sept. 1.
The port expected to handle 23 ships on Sept. 4, including two cruise ships, 12 container vessels and nine cargo vessels.
The 2,974-passenger Carnival Conquest embarked passengers on Sept. 2 as scheduled at the Erato Street Cruise Terminal for its regular seven-day itinerary.
The 2,052-passenger Carnival Elation was expected to return to its normal itinerary when it arrived Sept. 3.
