September 27, 2012
InnerSea Discoveries and American Safari Cruises will operate three expedition boats and four upscale yachts in Alaska for summer 2013. The expedition boats offer “Active Adventures” while the yachts offer “Luxury” and “Heritage Adventures.”
The 2013 program will operate from May to September from the Alaska homeports of Ketchikan, Juneau and Sitka. The seven boats will operate 11 itineraries from seven to 21 nights long.
Joining the fleet in August 2013, the 88-guest Safari Legacy will sail two 11-night cruises between Seattle and Juneau.
The boat will introduce the new “Heritage Adventures” with port calls and a focus on Gold Rush history and culture of the Inside Passage.
“With the addition of Heritage Adventures, we now offer three Un-Cruise styles of adventure in Alaska,” said Tim Jacox, executive vice president of sales and marketing.
“Whether on an Active, Luxury or Heritage Adventure, guests will experience eye-to-eye wildlife and one-on-one culture.”
From May 4 through Sept. 14, InnerSea Discoveries’ expedition boats offer weeklong “Active Adventures” in Alaska sailing between Ketchikan and Juneau or Juneau and Sitka.
The three itineraries can be combined into 14- or 21-night adventures. Rates begin at $1,895 per person, based on double occupancy. In May and September, 14-night expeditions between Seattle and Juneau are available with rates starting at $3,495 per person.
InnerSea’s three expedition boats -- Wilderness Discoverer, Wilderness Adventurer and Wilderness Explorer -- carry 60 to 76 guests and offer “Active Adventures” in Southeast Alaska that include kayaking, hiking, stand-up paddle boarding, skiff explorations and whale watching in remote wilderness areas.
