Cunard Line launches tropical cruise sale

Known mostly for its trans-Atlantic sailings, Cunard Line is offering five days of savings on its warm-water itineraries with the Tropical Discoveries Sale.

Starting today, the British cruise company is offering reduced rates, as well as two-for-one savings, reduced deposits and on-board credit of up to $300, on 16 sailings departing in 2013, booked over the next five days.

The itineraries include the South Pacific, Panama Canal transits, and the Caribbean.

Examples of some of the savings on the Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth include:

A 14-day cruise from Southampton to Fort Lauderdale departing Jan. 6, starting at $1,495; a 16-day Panama Canal cruise from New York to San Francisco, departing Jan. 18, starting from $1,995; a 15-day Panama Canal transit leaving Jan. 20 from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles, starting at $1,795; a 20-day South Pacific cruise departing Feb. 3 from San Francisco to Sydney starting at $2,495; a 36-day round-trip Los Angeles cruise to the "Pearls of the Pacific" leaving Feb. 4, starting at $5,795; and an 18-day Panama Canal transit cruise leaving March 12 from Los Angeles to New York, starting at $2,095.

The sale also includes savings on the line's trans-Atlantic crossings on the Queen Mary 2.

All prices are per person, based on double occupancy. Some sailings offer the option to receive up to $300 in on-board credit of per cabin and two-for-one savings.
