Singapore Airlines boosts Adelaide flights

Singapore Airlines will add three weekly flights to its Adelaide roster from Monday July 2, boosting its schedule for the SA capital to ten return services per week.

But they're not exactly 'new' flights: the airline is simply bringing back the thrice-weekly SQ276-SQ277 service which it dropped at the beginning of this year.

That flight will run on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays out of Adelaide (SQ276) at 5.05pm, reaching Singapore at 11pm – and given the typical efficiency of Singapore's Changi Airport (especially if you're traveling with carry-on only) that'll see you settled in your hotel room before midnight.

The SQ277 return flight leaves Singapore at 7.35am for wheels-down into the City of Churches at 3.50pm.

Both flights use SQ's Airbus A330, on which we rate seats 14D, 14F, 15D and 15F as among the best in business class, especially for the overnight flight back to Australia.

“Customers can now enjoy optimal transit times of less than two hours on key routes throughout Europe and Asia (and) will also be particularly excited at the range of same-day travel options now on offer on the Adelaide route” pledges Subhas Menon, Singapore Airlines’ Regional Vice President South-West Pacific.

Earlier this week Menon indicated that Perth and Brisbane would also receive additional flights this year, along with a second Airbus A380 for Melbourne-Singapore, describing Australia as a market that is “growing in terms of prominence in our network.”
