Easyjet to add more domestic flights from Belfast

Easyjet will add extra frequencies to its routes from Belfast International airport to Edinburgh, Manchester and four airports in the south east this winter, as well as introducing new flights to Birmingham from the Northern Irish capital.

The increased frequencies will take effect on October 28, as follows:

Flights between Belfast and Edinburgh will increase from three to four daily on Monday, and from two to three daily on Tuesday and Wednesday

Flights between Belfast and Manchester will increase from two to three daily on Monday, Thursday and Friday

Flights between Belfast and Gatwick, Luton, Southend and Stansted will see “extra flights on weekday mornings and evenings, particularly aimed at business travellers”

Ali Gayward, Easyjet's commercial manager, said: “Edinburgh and Manchester are important centres for the business community and also for leisure travellers, including people going there for our popular city breaks.

“We operate up to 13 flights daily from Belfast to London, significantly more than any other airline, but demand is such that the extra morning and evening flights are essential.”

The additional frequencies are in addition to the previously announced new route between Belfast and Birmingham, which starts on October 22.
