Crystal Cruises Offers “Local Insights” Port Program in Europe

Crystal Cruises announced “Local Insights,” a port program offered as part of the company’s European itineraries, which brings aboard native experts to share their unique knowledge of the destination’s art, politics, archaeology and history.
The program features complimentary live talk show-style interviews offered aboard Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity in more than two dozen ports of call in the Mediterranean and Northern European in 2012.
Programs will be rebroadcast on in-stateroom televisions during each voyage.
Scheduled speakers include Gaudí Centre architect Toshiaki Tange in Barcelona; St. Petersburg’s former Mayor Vladimir Khodyrev or Hermitage Managing Director Olga Arkhipova in St. Petersburg; Lars Liebst, managing director of Tivoli Gardens, in Copenhagen; and Yasar Yildiz, archaeological diver and director of the Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology, in Bodrum.
Additional ports in which the program will be offered include Dublin, Piraeus, Mykonos, Santorini, Reykjavik, Odessa, Kotor, Ashdod, Livorno, Malaga, Cadiz, Valencia, Sorrento, Dubrovnik and Bilbao. Some itineraries will offer experts at up to three different ports of call.
All-inclusive fares for five- to 15-day European voyages start at $1,310 per person, with optional air add-ons and savings for groups of six or more.
