Travel Deals: Free Admission to National Parks
April 15, 2010

Yosemite has an entrance fee of $20 for each car. Entrance to Badlands National Park costs between $7 and $15.

But for one week, April 17 to 25, all 392 national parks are waiving admission fees. The parks will also offer additional discounts on tours, lodging, food and souvenirs. For example, several Aramark Parks and Destinations hotels are offering buy one night, get one free, including the Far View Lodge, near Mesa Verde, in southwestern Colorado.

There also will be family-friendly events surrounding the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, April 22, and National Junior Ranger Day, April 24.

Can’t make it out that week? All 392 parks will grant free admission again on Sept. 25 (Public Lands Day) and Nov. 11 (Veterans Day).

The fee waiver for National Park Week does not include other fees collected by contractors, such as fees charged for camping, reservations and use of concessions.
