Florida authorities sue to stop Kissimmee travel-package seller
September 19, 2009
State authorities said Thursday they have filed a lawsuit against a Kissimmee man accused of running an unlicensed travel business that sold vacation packages costing as much as $11,000 for others to resell.
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services said it is seeking an injunction against NB Management LLC -- which operates in Central Florida as Coastal Vacations, Coastal Club Vacations and Cross Country Vacations -- for violating the state's Seller of Travel Act.
Department investigators said they served a cease-and-desist order against NB Management owner Al Romine while Romine was conducting a "training seminar" at the Gaylord Palms Resort this past weekend.
The department says it has received 67 complaints against the company from consumers saying they were deceived by NB Management.
