North America is the third largest continent, with a surface area of 24,221,490 sq km. It is located in the northern hemisphere, between the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean and to the north of South America. North America consists of four countries: the United States of America, Canada, Mexico and Greenland. Also there is a small self-governing territory of France, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, located near the south shore of the Canadian island of Newfoundland. North America’s climate varies throughout the continent. The U.S. and Canada have four distinct seasons – winter, spring, summer and fall – while most of the other countries including Cuba and Mexico only have two. On the other hand, the islands closer to the Caribbean Sea – Jamaica and the Bahamas – are year-round destinations. Finding cheap flights to North America destination spots are largely dependent on the weather in a particular country or city. For instance, flights to the Caribbean during hurricane season will likely be cheaper than during peak travel seasons.

North America is teaming with opportunities for exploration, adventure, fun, and relaxation.   North American natives as well as travelers from Europe and other parts of the planet who have never ventured into the new world have many surprises in store for them.   However, they need not be unpleasant surprises Travel in North America is fairly safe, but as with any travel, tourists must always keep in mind that they are prime targets of those who would take advantage of them.   So there are advantages and disadvantages to traveling with a group rather than alone. From the Grand Canyon of Arizona to the glaciers of Alaska and Canada to the Aztec and Mayan ruins in Mexico, North America is a very diverse place culturally and geographically. There are many natural wonders here, from the Mexican Riviera to the Great Lakes and the Canadian Rockies.

It is also home to millions of people. Canadians, Americans and Mexicans come together and reside by some of the longest undefended borders in the world. North America is a place with its own signature, but a history including influences of the Indigenous, European, African and Asian flavors. North America has grown from its days as the home of a variety of indigenous cultures with a mixture of European colonies to three strong and individual countries cast in their own unique mold, and this is expressed in the cultural diversity of the regions.
